ABC Credit Union has been serving the educational community since 1956. As a financially sound and strong institution, our goal is to be your Premier Financial Institution. We want to be your number one financial service provider. The beauty of credit union membership is that, once you join, you are a member for life. Once a member, always a member. Your family members are also eligible to take advantage of the many products and services ABC Credit Union has to offer.

Select Employment Groups (SEGs)
Many local employers have joined ABC Credit Union as a select employment group (SEG) so that the company can offer ABC Credit Union as an employment benefit. One such benefit is the Ambassador Rewards Program. If you are an employee of one of these companies, you may join ABC CU immediately. Check our list of SEGs or call 703-788-4800 or 800-666-7996 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. (EST), Monday through Friday. If you prefer, you may determine your membership eligibility by providing your employer's name in our message center.

Family Membership
You and the members of your family may enjoy all the benefits of ABC Credit Union membership for life. Your eligible family members include:
- Your Spouse
- Your children
- Your grandchildren
- Your grandparents
- Your parents
- Your siblings
Household Membership
Persons living in your residence may also be eligible for membership if you maintain a single economic unit. This may include other family members, domestic partners, roommates, or legal guardians.
EXCLUDED from this category are persons living temporarily in a residence (visitor), fraternities, sororities, condominium complexes and boarding houses.
Joint Membership
Joint ownership does not give full membership rights but it may allow access to some of the same account benefits that a member enjoys. To be able to deposit or withdraw funds from an ABC Credit Union account as a joint owner, a member must give permission for you to access to his or her account. The member must complete a new membership application and designate you as the joint owner. A joint owner cannot borrow money from the credit union.

You can apply for membership in person at one of our branch locations or you may request that a membership application to be mailed to you. Effective October 1, 2003, under the provisions of The U.S. Patriot Act Member Identification Program (M. I. P.), the following items will be needed before the application can be fully processed by ABC CU:
- a completed membership application,
- a minimum deposit of $5 to a regular share savings account,
- a copy of your driver's license or other proof of identity. We may also ask to see other identifying documents.
- and, if applying on the basis of employment in a Select Employment Group, a pay stub or other proof of employment in that group.
Individuals who are applying based on a household affiliation with another member must also supply:
- a valid driver's license or photo ID with an address matching that of the sponsoring member,
- a major utility bill with an address matching that of the sponsoring member
